Drainfield and Leach Field Installation

Drainfield and Leach Field Installation in Conroe

The drainfield is where the treated effluent finally returns to the soil, and it is the part of a septic system most likely to fail when it is undersized or poorly built. Environmentaldirectory installs and replaces gravel trench and plastic chamber leach fields for Conroe homes, each one sized from the soil percolation rate so effluent disperses without surfacing in the yard or backing up into the house.

Why the Perc Rate Drives the Design

A drainfield cannot be guessed at. We run the perc test and read the soil profile to set the trench length the Montgomery County health department will permit. Sandy loam that drains fast needs less absorption area than tight clay near the lake. Getting that number right, along with the four feet of separation to the seasonal water table, is the difference between a field that lasts 25 years and one that fails in five.

Our Process

We locate the field to hold the required 100 foot setback from any well, excavate the trenches to plan depth, and lay perforated pipe over washed gravel or set gravelless chambers with geotextile fabric. The distribution box is leveled so every lateral gets an even share of flow. We backfill to the approved grade and stay through the inspection.
